The DropboxThe Dropbox is a PHP based system that allows the transfer of large files without the hassle of delivering CDs or sending e-mails that bounce back. This Is How It WorksWhen an ERD designer has a digital proof ready for client review or a print-ready folder that needs to handed off for production, the files are simply uploaded to the the correct Dropbox. Each of our clients and suppliers are given a unique codename and password that can be used to access this information. We've engineered this part of the system to keep our client's work private and secure. Once the user enters the login information, they are greeted by a simple interface complete with easy to understand instructions. Users can upload a compressed folder or a series of documents and provide a short description as to what they are dropping in. Once files have been successfully uploaded, the user will notify the appropriate party that the files they require are now available to be downloaded. With this system, there is no need for users to meet online simultaneously or be logged in at the same time to execute a file transfer. The ResultsWe've found that the Dropbox has saved us money in courier charges, driving time, and prevented us from experiencing the frustration of sending repeat e-mails. The Dropbox has given our clients increased remote storage options and an innovative way to keep communication on complicated projects simple. The Dropbox is just one of the ways better communication has led to better results. To see some examples of other web based solutions we've designed, feel free to visit our portfolio.
